Janice (Derek's mother) has declared that she wants her 40th birthday party in Iceland. (Yes, this would mean that she would have had to have given birth to Derek at least a year before her own birth.)
All are invited.
Plane tickets have not been purchased as of yet, but the general plan is:
Fly out Sept 19th evening flight to Iceland. Arrive Sunday the 20th in the AM.
Activities would include:
- Blue Lagoon
- Horseback riding
- Perhaps a shorter bus tour
- Evening birthday party
- Perhaps some more snorkling/diving
- Daytrip to Reykjavik
Fly home on September 24th.
We don't need definite RSVPs at this time, but you may want to tentatively add this to your autumnal kick-off calendar.

I know. Wow is right.
As you may know, I tend to return to the various exotic locales I visit at least once.... So there may not be any arm-twisting needed to get me on board. And Janice's 40th birthday is a very monumental occasion that really shouldn't be missed.
And hell, Iceland's governmental infrastructure has seriously fallen apart as of late. THE ICELANDERS NEED US NOW MORE THAN EVER!!!
If someone needs their arms twisted to go to one of the coolest funnest spots on the planet, then we wouldn't want them along anyway. They'd just be party poopers.
And since the government collapsed today.....
But maybe by Sept 09, they will have gotten their economy together (much to our detriment).
