1) Contact your credit card/bank card companies and let them know you'll be going to Iceland. You wouldn't want them shutting you down when you're on an adventure.
2) Make sure you've got your passport. Many is the person who found, much to their chagrin, that there was a last minute passport problem.
3) Pull your suitcase out of the closet and begin to fill it with key items. Bathing suits, underwear, socks, long underwear (snorklers), spare toothbrush, etc.
4) Be sure to organize any medications.
5) Research the current requirements for carry on baggage and for toiletries.
6) Unlike some travel I've done to European capitals, where we're going in Iceland is very isolated. There aren't any drug stores or convenience stores or any stores near by. Be sure to pack what you will need taking into consideration the isolation.
