Planning Phase

D and I were discussing the trip last night and thinking about the actual schedule of events.

The Arrival Day - Sunday will most likely consist of what arrival days have always consisted of back throughout history. It will be the day to sleep off the airplane ride. Enjoy cookies/snacks/beverages we buy at the convenience store at the airport. Visit the Blue Lagoon to wash away the stresses of life. And have dinner at the hotel. Maybe even go into Grindavik for a burger at the famous gas station grill.

The First Day - Monday is a bit of an open day of possibility. Some ideas are a day trip into Reykjavik, another bus tour through the countryside (maybe not for 12 hours though), another snorkling expedition, a Salty Tour. If anyone has any thoughts/suggestions, we're opening the floor for discussion.

The Second Day - Tuesday is the actual birthday day. When last we heard Janice wants to go horseback riding and then to the Blue Lagoon and then a dinner party back at the hotel. Sounds pretty good to me.

The Third Day - Wednesday is another open day of possibility. Whatever we don't do on Monday, we could do on Wednesday.

The Fourth Day - This is J, D, and M's return home day. So, morning at the Blue Lagoon and then off to the airport.

Another thought we had was about maybe doing a little "underplanning" where we have a few ideas and then wait until we arrive to actually put plans into action. This allows for more flexibility and spontaneity.
