Connections

Funny how some connections are made in your life and experiences that you don't expect.

As it turns out, Iceland is a popular destination for Japanese tourists. (I lived in Japan for a year about 10 years ago.)

Here's why:

1) Japanese love onsen (hot baths). Especially in natural settings with a medicinal/therapeutic flavor.

2) There is a category of Japanese tourists who love tours to see natural wonders like the Aurora Borealis.

3) They like the Safety Country. And Iceland seems like a real Safety Country to me.

4) They can identify with the whole geo-active island thing.

5) They are fond of fresh seafood.

(Oh, and if you were wondering, the United States is NOT a Safety Country.)
