There's only one week to go before the big adventure. Be sure to vote in our latest poll (and vote for real on Election Day).
We hope everyone who plans to snorkel has purchased their long underwear.
You might want to review some of the previous postings, especially about the Blue Lagoon or details on the hotel.
Here are a couple of more little factoids/memories of ours.
The Duty Free shop at Keflavik is on the small side, but you can get some interesting Icelandic goods. Icelandic beers and Opal (for those who just can't get enough of the taste of green Ny-Quil in their lives). There are also bags of sample Icelandic candy. These make great O-Miyage. O-Miyage is the Japanese tradition of buying gifts for everyone you know when you go on vacation. These bags are perfect for sharing around the office, especially if you have a few licorice lovers in your life. Chocolate covered licorice is a very popular candy in Iceland.
There is also a brief movie that promotes the beauty of Iceland at the airport. It's a great way to kill a little time before your flight home and will make you long to return for a lengthier stay.
One thing that surprised me at the airport is that they do another security search when you arrive. It's like they don't trust other countries' security systems. Be prepared to take off your shoes and be scanned again in the morning.
So, vote in the poll and start preliminary packing.
